Cuba Multi Destination Flights Announced
Four Canadian charter airlines will be granted permission from the Government of Cuba to fly between multiple domestic locations within Cuba.
Canada provides Cuba with over 40 percent of its overall tourists. 2009 saw a record number of Canadians tourists in Cuba with over 900,000 visitors.
While the US government embargo still forbids ordinary US citizens from visiting Cuba, Canadians have made Cuba a favorite Caribbean destination attracted by Cuba’s many beach resorts along Varanasi, plus cultural offerings in Cuba's capital city, Havana.
Under the new agreement, four Canadian charter airlines will be permitted to fly between multiple locations after landing in Cuba. That means winter sun seekers to Cuba would be able to fly on Canadian air carriers to more than one destination within the country, presumably on a single vacation.
Cuba’s ambassador to Canada, De JesDus Vicente Sotolongo, told The Press that the measure would apply to four Canadian charter airlines that currently run tours to Cuba: Air Transat, Sunwing Airlines, WestJet and Canjet Airlines.
