For 16 days in January the Niagara region in Ontario is transformed into a wintry wonderland, celebrating one of Canada's most cherished products, Ontario Icewine. From Gala evenings, ornate ice bars and Winemakers' Dinners, to roasting chestnuts, late night Icewine grape picking and sleigh rides along Niagara's famed Ontario wine route, the 12th edition of the Niagara Icewine Festival offers plenty for every taste.

Xerox Icewine Gala - Ice wine Gala Evening, Niagara Falls, Ontario

Celebrate the release of Ontario' s award winning Ice wines at the Xerox Ice Wine Evening. The rarest and most treasured of Ontario's wines - Icewine - will be the focus of celebrations on January 15, 2010. The majestic Niagara Falls will be in the background as more than 25 of Ontario's award-winning wineries gather for the Xerox Icewine Evening, held at the Niagara Fallsview Casino from 8 pm to 11 pm.

This spectacular evening showcases wines from several of the province's premier wineries and features Canada's largest tasting of internationally acclaimed Icewines and other premium wines from the 2006 Vintage of Excellence. Add in entertainment by TiannaH and Jazz With a Twist and this is a unique and unforgettable evening. Tickets are priced at $175 CAD., per person.

NIAGARA ICE WINE BAR - TWENTY VALLEY ICEWINE BAR, Jordan, Ontario

Don't miss the quaint village of Jordan, nestled at the foot of the escarpment for a memorable experience at the Twenty Valley Icewine Bar. This historic town of retail boutiques, restaurants, and luxury accommodations makes this a not-to-bemissed wine country adventure.

Several blocks of ice, carved with scenes of Canadiana, will be the cornerstones of these outdoor activities. Ice carving demonstrations, Iceberg Vodka Icewine Martinis (featuring Lakeview Vidal Icewine), and outstanding Niagara cuisine will be offered in addition to wineries offering their highly acclaimed Icewines from behind the ice bar.
